Luchadores Mil Mascares
When the great film Nacho Libre came out in 2006, I was hooked on Lucha-Libre! I loved the mystical drama that it was. It’s allure inspired me to produce this piece of art.
It was a monster because it stole every creative thought from my head. I knew I wanted it to have a very “Mexican” feel to it. I wanted the piece to be painted on wood. I wanted it to look like it was done in a back alley by someone honoring his favorite Luchador.
Something to be hung on a mantle-piece.
Well, here it is. A stained oak panel with gold, copper, & silver leaf topped off with white, red, lavender, and purple pinstriping. The custom made frame was painted gold and then distressed. On top of the frame is hand painted a mexican-style bouquet of flowers, pinstriping and letters in silver leaf “Luchadores - Mil Mascares” which means; “Wrestling - Thousand Masks”.
Gracias por mirar.
Thanks for looking.
