What a Drag
Traditional “Hot Rodding” started in the dirt. The first “Hot Rods” were never the show pieces we see today at car shows. They were built in parking lots, dirty garages, and driveways of true speed junkies. You won’t find an ounce of billet nor a smidge of carnauba wax. This is my favorite form of Hot Rodding culture. Cas built from spare or borrowed parts and only for the thrill of the ride.
I was extremely lucky to have a few years of Hot Rod Dirt Drags right in my own backyard - Monte Vista, Colorado. Mike Nicholas from Nick’s Garage in Englewood, Colorado put it on as long as the insurance would let him, and I had the honor of doing press photos for the few years it happened. Here is just a small taste of the many shots I did during this event.
Enjoy!
