Early Iron Club
This is a very special/controversial logo design. It was originally started by Kris Gosar and sat unfinished for quite a few years. When I was invited into the club, I ended up finishing it. It’s controversial because the guy who started the logo still claims it as his even though someone else finished it. I donated all of my time and effort for this logo to the club and I consider it completely theirs.
Original logo start given to me to finish.
The logo given to me to work on was a bit rough and premature. I could tell the direction they were intending to go but it needed a bit of work to get there.
They wanted to place the lettering over the top of a 30’s era grill. They also wanted to make member (vin-style) plates to put on the member cars. I began work on it and finally decided to make it look like an actual vin plate.
The Lettering was defined a bit to make the “y” feel more like a “y” and not a “u”. I then added a bit of stylization to the to the embellishments to give the same feel they were wanting but less of a Orange County Choppers feel.
The finished product includes the original location of the club “Alamosa, Colorado” and stamped into the plate at the bottom is the year they were established “EST. 1980”. The rivet areas have brass rivets that say “Early Iron Club”.
